Halal, without the guesswork

Point your camera.

Halal Food Scanner reads the ingredient list for you and answers in one word — halal, haram, or honestly uncertain. Nothing to type, nothing to remember.

A packet of biscuits shouldn't take ten minutes of reading.

E471 could be plant fat or animal fat. Lecithin is usually soy, sometimes not. Standing in the aisle, phone in one hand, searching an ingredient code you'll forget by next week — that's the part we took off your plate.

Unlisted product, or an import with a foreign barcode — photograph the ingredients instead.

One word, then the why

Every ingredient matched against sourced reference tables — E-numbers and common ingredients, checked against bodies like IFANCA. Never a guess.

Four answers, and we mean all four

We match every ingredient against sourced reference tables. We never guess — if something isn't clear, or we simply don't have the data yet, we tell you. A gap is never shown as a pass.

Halal

Every ingredient we could check matches as permissible.

?
Uncertain

One or more ingredients have an unclear source — for example an emulsifier that can be plant or animal. We flag it and tell you what to check.

Haram

Contains something not permissible, such as pork gelatin or cochineal (E120), a red colour made from insects.

Not checked

Not in our records yet, or the label couldn't be fully read. We say so plainly — silence is never shown as a green light.

Best-effort guidance from sourced references — not a religious ruling or certification. Please double-check when in doubt.

Uncertain verdict screen — the differentiator: a gap is never shown as a pass
The differentiator

When we're not sure, we say so.

No competitor shows this screen. An unclear ingredient gets flagged and explained, not quietly waved through as a pass.
